Our mission is to offer preventive and regenerative medicine in a medical facility that reflects the comfort and service of a 5-star superior hotel. The best of all worlds under one roof: modern medical science, innovative pioneering technology and ancient healing knowledge, such as from the traditional Indian healing art of Ayurveda. At the Buff Medical Resort, our guests will find a unique combination of ultra-modern, high-tech medical equipment and laboratory diagnostic precision, combined with a holistic approach to care and experiential medicine that is centred on the individual. Our 4 pillars of health
At the Buff Medical Resort, we offer our guests a unique medical prevention concept based on four pillars. These four pillars – altitude climate, cardio MRI, F.X. Mayr medicine & gut health, gait and movement analysis & muscle health – are central to our pioneering health programmes and help to achieve sustainable health and comprehensive, holistic well-being.
Altitude climate technology
We offer our guests a specially regulated, simulated altitude climate in all rooms and suites. A globally unique method to promote regeneration, performance enhancement and health. This unique technology simulates the atmosphere of high mountain locations up to 2,000 metres above sea level, which increases the supply of oxygen in the body and thus improves blood circulation, stimulates cell metabolism and promotes regeneration. This natural method also supports cardiovascular health, strengthens the immune system and the power stations of the cells. It alleviates inflammation and supports healing processes in the body – for more vitality and lasting recovery.
State-of-the-art cardio MRI
With cardio-MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) at the level of leading university hospitals, we at the Buff Medical Resort use one of the most advanced methods for examining the heart. This highly developed diagnostic tool makes it possible to analyse the heart health of our guests precisely and non-invasively, detect cardiac risks at an early stage and assess the performance of the heart down to the smallest detail – completely without X-rays or harmful substances. This allows us to create customised treatment plans to sustainably improve our guests’ heart health.
F.X. Mayr medicine & intestinal health
Intestinal health is the root of health. Therapeutic fasting according to Dr F.X. Mayr is an internationally recognised method for detoxification, purification and regeneration of the body. It is based on the principle of cleansing the intestines and relieving the digestive system in order to revitalise the entire organism. The Buff Medical Resort offers a modern interpretation of this proven fasting cure, which is ideal for strengthening the immune system, improving well-being and promoting long-term health. The specialised doctors at the Buff Medical Resort can already identify initial changes away from the ideal state of our guests’ health and successfully treat them with a human-focused form of fasting medicine according to F.X. Mayr – without starvation. Mayr – without any hunger. With precise diagnostics, exact analysis of the microbiome and individually tailored therapies, as well as targeted diets, manual abdominal treatments, exercise, stress reduction and the transfer of know-how, they help guests to optimise their digestion, promote the absorption of important nutrients in the gut and strengthen their health from the inside out.
Gait and movement analysis & muscle health
Muscle health is the basis for an active life. Muscles decline by 3-8% every year from the age of 30. This loss jeopardises our self-determination and independence in old age. At the Buff Medical Resort, we therefore use pioneering performance diagnostics to determine the muscle health of our guests. A team of orthopaedists, sports scientists and physiotherapists work together with guests to develop an appropriate exercise programme. With the innovative gait and movement analysis, misalignments, imbalances and movement patterns of the body are precisely analysed and corrected in a targeted manner. Personalised training plans are drawn up to improve our guests’ mobility, reduce pain and improve their general mobility. This method is particularly invaluable for chronic complaints, back problems or sports injuries. Gait training and specially adapted insoles accelerate success so that our guests can move towards a powerful future free of injury and pain.
Ayurveda
The Buff Medical Resort’s holistic health concept uses the ancient healing knowledge of Ayurveda and combines traditional Indian healing arts with modern medical expertise to restore the balance of body, mind and soul. Experienced Ayurvedic doctors and therapists create a tailor-made treatment plan for our guests – from revitalising oil treatments such as Abhyanga and Shirodhara to deep cleansing herbal treatments. Ayurveda (literally: the knowledge of long and healthy life) is not just a therapy at the Buff Medical Resort, but a lifestyle for sustainable health and life balance.
Innovative health programmes
At the Buff Medical Resort, we offer our guests health programmes from 3 to 21 days and beyond. The programmes vary in intensity, duration and content. They have been developed by leading doctors in preventive and regenerative medicine. The Classic programmes (BuffMed Classic Intense 21 days, Compact 14 days, Light 10 days) are at the heart of our company. They are supplemented by the Advanced programmes (BuffMed Advanced Intense 21 days, Compact 14 days, Light 10 days), which also include all the services of the BuffMed Cardio programme. The latter can also be booked individually. The Time Out programmes (BuffMed Vitality 7 days, Sports 3 days, Relax 3 days) are short programmes within the BuffMed world. The range of healing and treatment methods in the BuffMed World is extensive, with a particular focus on the therapy concept of Dr F.X. Mayr. Mayr therapy concept. As in the Classic programmes, therapeutic fasting also plays a central role in the Advanced programmes.

A fantastic wellness and spa area awaits our guests at the Buff Medical Resort. A place to feel good, relax and unwind, offering space for contemplation, inspiration and pure relaxation. The Buff Relax area of our resort offers a wide range of treatments, from classic massages and hydrotherapy treatments to special offers such as fascia therapy. A special highlight: the seamless transition of the pool landscape from indoors to outdoors – with a 15-metre indoor pool and a 25-metre outdoor pool. Here, guests can swim outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty of the park directly on Lake Constance. Majestic trees create an impressive backdrop for a dip in the refreshing water and create a feeling of deep connection with nature.

Natural care at the highest level. At the Buff Medical Resort, our guests can look forward to an exclusive skincare experience that combines state-of-the-art skincare with the power of nature. The beauty treatments are based on the award-winning, certified organic products from TEAM DR JOSEPH – a renowned brand from South Tyrol that has been synonymous with sustainable, results-orientated skincare since 1986.
Bio-GourMed cuisine
The cuisine at the Buff Medical Resort uses carefully selected, fresh and seasonal ingredients for its dishes. Hand-picked, regional, sustainable and skilfully prepared. The products are sourced from the Lake Constance region and are organic. Top-quality products from all over the world complement the menu. The nutritional concepts are customised and based on precise diagnoses by medical specialists. In collaboration with our head chef, we create dishes that optimally support the recovery and revitalisation of our guests. Under the Buff GourMed label, healing and fasting cuisine are combined at a gourmet level. Our top chefs create dishes that offer culinary depth and tantalise the taste buds of our guests.
Nutrition and diet counselling
A balanced diet is a central component of the innovative health programmes at the Buff Medical Resort. Our nutritionists offer personalised programmes and workshops based on scientific findings.
Fitness & Sport
In addition to a modern gym equipped with premium fitness equipment from TechnoGym, the resort offers tailor-made training programmes with personal trainers. Yoga, meditation and Pilates can be enjoyed under majestic trees in the resort’s own park and other outdoor activities in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Constance.

6. Equipment and architecture
The exclusive architecture of the Buff Medical Resort reflects the modern luxury that awaits our guests. With spacious rooms, light-flooded lounges and an extensive park area with mature trees, our resort offers space for relaxation and recuperation. Modern furnishings combined with natural materials create a calming ambience that invites you to feel at home.
The Buff Medical Resort makes extensive use of natural materials. The majority of the building, the room storeys, were built from sustainable and pollutant-free solid wood in a post-and-beam construction – for a feel-good climate with a connection to nature. To positively influence the vegetative nervous system, all guest rooms and suites have been finished in valuable Swiss stone pine wood. The beds are metal-free and earthed for the connection to nature (grounding). Cotton plaster was used in the gauze therapy for a balanced climate and solid natural stone for the façade (Gauinger travertine).
Premium rooms and suites
The guest rooms at the Buff Medical Resort offer a warm and cosy atmosphere and a modern design. There are three room categories with 42sqm, 56sqm, 84sqm and the possibility of connecting doors. We also have a presidential suite measuring 300 square metres. All rooms are south-facing, with spacious balconies and terraces from which our guests can enjoy a marvellous view of the park and Lake Constance. The screw- and metal-free beds are also earthed to optimise our guests’ sleep. A special highlight is the ideally placed bathtub, which allows you to enjoy the impressive view of the surrounding nature even during a relaxing bath. All rooms are designed with lots of wood and precious Swiss stone pine from the Engadine in Switzerland, which creates an unrivalled atmosphere of peace and security. The special wood promotes well-being and improves the quality of sleep. It supports the regeneration of the vegetative nervous system and helps to lower the heart rate.7. Sustainability is a key concern for us at the Buff Medical Resort. The resort favours environmentally friendly construction, energy efficiency and the use of regional and organic products in the Buff Cuisine. The treatment methods are also based on the principles of sustainability in order to promote the long-term health of our guests and at the same time have a positive impact on the environment.
